Every stay booked on Spekboom sends a portion of what the guest pays to people doing good work on the ground: a school, a reserve, a clinic, a project in the town. The host chooses who. Guests see that choice on the listing and travel knowing where the money goes.
Some of our places are safari lodges. Many are farm cottages, guesthouses and city apartments. What they share is a host who looks after the place, and who has decided the place should look after where it is.
Community, environment, education. One is enough to begin.
How it works
You send the place. We write it, photograph-first, and put it in front of the right travellers.
Where it is, what it offers, and a few photographs. Phone photographs are fine.
Our team writes your page around your photographs. You read it and approve it before anyone else sees it.
Your place goes live to travellers looking for exactly what you offer, and every booking shows what it gave back.
What we look for
We choose the places we list. Some are simple, some are grand. All of them are looked after, and all of them give something to where they are.
A view worth waking for. A walk from the door. Birds in the garden. Guests come for the place around the place, and we look for hosts who know theirs.
Clean, ready and considered. Someone who answers. A welcome that has been thought about. Simple is welcome.
The people you employ. A school, a reserve, a project in your town. If you already support something, tell us. If not yet, we will suggest a cause working near you.
What it costs
Free to list. Nothing to pay until a guest stays. Payment processing is included, and a minimum of 2.5% of every booking goes to the cause your place supports.
