The Kogelberg Biosphere is a non-profit company at the fynbos heart of the Cape Floristic Region — South Africa's first UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve and one of the most botanically diverse places on Earth. The organisation develops practical solutions to protect natural ecosystems, secure water resources, support environmental education and create sustainable economic opportunities for the communities that call the biosphere home.
A key project is the Kogelberg Biosphere Wildlife Rescue & Training Centre, the Western Cape's first permitted wildlife rehabilitation centre. The centre provides emergency rescue and rehabilitation for injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife — spotted eagle-owls, duikers, honey badgers, genets, mongoose, waterbirds and more — with the goal of releasing healthy animals back into the fynbos they belong to.
Alongside its rescue work, the centre trains volunteers and future wildlife rehabilitators, strengthening conservation efforts across the region. Your support helps fund the enclosures, veterinary care, food and daily work that give the Kogelberg's wild animals a second chance.
