About this place
At the foot of Table Mountain in a quiet corner of Oranjezicht, Welgelegen House captures Cape Town's timeless charm. Once two Victorian family homes, and later an orphanage for Jewish children, the buildings were joined by a courtyard garden and reimagined as a boutique guesthouse: a genuine home away from home a short stroll from the restaurants and shops of Kloof Street.
Fourteen en-suite rooms open onto the leafy courtyard, offering calm amid the city's rhythm, and a plunge pool provides respite on warm days. The team is known for its local knowledge, from hidden Kloof Street restaurants to the best way up Table Mountain. Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront and the city centre are all a short drive away, making the house both a restful base and a good springboard for exploring the peninsula.
Welgelegen House is part of RETURN Africa's Cape Collection, the Cape counterpart to their Pafuri camps in the far north of the Kruger.
