About this place
Khayelitshe House is a private villa among the ancient granite boulders of Matobo Hills National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its balancing rocks, its San rock art and its rhinos. Booked exclusively, it comes with a private chef, guide and host.
There are four suites, each with a rain shower and a slipper bath, sleeping six adults and three children under 16. The house has an outdoor pool, a wine cellar, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a games room and a large outdoor play area, so it suits families as well as friends travelling together.
Half-day outings include rhino walks in the national park, a hike to Rhodes' Grave at World's View, visits to cave paintings and historic sites, sundowners among the rocks and a tour of the Khami Ruins near Bulawayo, with guide, vehicle and entrance fees included. It is one of the camps run by African Bush Camps, a Zimbabwean-founded safari company whose Foundation works on education, community and conservation projects in the areas around its camps.
