About this place
Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa is a Big 5 safari destination set in a malaria-free reserve in the Karoo, roughly two hours from Cape Town on the N1. The reserve is home to lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard, along with hippo, giraffe and abundant plains game, all viewed on guided game drives led by experienced rangers.
The stone-and-thatch lodge looks out over the reserve and an infinity pool, with a restaurant, poolside bar, the Tranquila Spa, a curio shop and a stargazing experience under the clear Karoo skies. An overnight stay is all-inclusive: welcome drinks, all main meals, two safari experiences, the stargazing session and access to the facilities.
Aquila is also home to the Aquila Rescue and Conservation programme (ARC) and its Saving Private Rhino anti-poaching initiative, so every stay supports the reserve’s conservation and rhino-protection work.
