Saving Private Rhino was founded by the team behind the Aquila Animal Rescue and Conservation Centre to give rhinos round-the-clock protection at a time when poaching threatens their survival. The programme funds and equips dedicated anti-poaching units with drones, tracking devices and surveillance technology so that reserves can respond the moment a threat appears.
Beyond patrols, the programme runs a rhino orphanage that rescues and rehabilitates calves orphaned by poaching, supports rhino dehorning as a deterrent, and delivers anti-poaching training and community education. Every contribution helps keep teams in the field and rhinos safe.
The programme operates under the Aquila Animal Rescue and Conservation Centre NPC (registration 2004/011009/08) in the Western Cape, with conservation work extending across Southern Africa.
