Malolotja Nature Reserve

Malolotja is a highland reserve in north-western Eswatini, about 18,000 hectares of mountain grassland, forest patches and river gorges, with the Malolotja Falls dropping about 90 metres in the middle of it. It is one of the best hiking areas in the region, with a network of trails and wilderness campsites, and a reserve for birders, with blue swallows breeding in the grassland in summer and bald ibis on the cliffs. Wildlife is mountain species: blesbok, oribi and eland. There is a canopy tour and cabins near the entrance, and the reserve is malaria-free and close to the Ngwenya border with South Africa.
