About this place
Tanda Tula has been a home in the Greater Kruger since 1977, and it still runs like one. The camp is proudly African, co-owned by the Scott, Jackson, Mathebula and Hartog families, and sits in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve looking out over a dry riverbed.
There are nine suites and never more than 22 guests. Seven Safari Suites take two, open plan with the lounge and bedroom running onto a wide terrace and a private plunge pool, and a bathroom with an indoor and an outdoor shower and a freestanding bath. Two Family Suites take four, two bedrooms with their own bathrooms either side of a shared lounge and pool, which suits two adults and two children or two couples travelling together. Suite 3 is adapted for wheelchair access.
The main areas are light and open: lounge, dining and bar under a wraparound covered patio, with a communal pool, a library and map room, a curio shop, a safari gym and a Wellness Nest. There is a waterhole with a viewing nest, and a Birds Nest for a drink above the treeline. The camp runs on solar with a generator behind it.
Game drives go out morning and afternoon in open vehicles with a maximum of six guests, and a private vehicle can be booked in advance. Guided bush walks, sundowners, bush breakfasts, sound and star safaris and private dinners all sit within the rate. Children are welcome from six.

Twin or king beds, air conditioning, fans, a fireplace, an indoor lounge and bar area, a bean to cup coffee machine, in-room safe and radio. The bathroom has an indoor and an outdoor shower and a freestanding bath. An extra bed can be added for a child under 16. Suite 3 is adapted for wheelchair access. The base rate covers up to three guests and a fourth is charged as an additional adult or child. Fully inclusive of meals, laundry, house drinks, game drives and guided walks. Minimum 2 nights.

Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
Cancellation Policy
Provisional bookings hold for up to 14 days. A 20 percent refundable deposit confirms a booking, and it stays refundable until either the agent cancels in writing or another enquiry arrives for overlapping dates, at which point it converts to a 20 percent non-refundable commitment fee. Full payment is due 60 days before arrival. Bookings held on a refundable deposit carry no cancellation fee up to 61 days before arrival. Once on a commitment fee, cancelling more than 60 days out forfeits that 20 percent; inside 60 days the full reservation value is forfeited. Refunds carry a 5 percent handling fee. Cancellations must be acknowledged by Tanda Tula in writing to be valid.
Note: The 2.5% conservation contribution, payment processing fees, and any applicable referral commissions are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Conservation contribution fees (2.5%) support conservation and community projects in the destinations you visit. Payment processing fees are absorbed by Spekboom for completed bookings, but cannot be recovered once a booking is cancelled. Referral commissions, where applicable, are paid to the referring party upon booking confirmation.
Payout Protection: Guest payments are held until the free cancellation window passes. This protects guests who cancel within their cancellation window and ensures hosts receive guaranteed payouts after the cancellation period ends.
