About this place
Simbavati Trails Camp is a walking safari camp for just eight guests in a quiet corner of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. There are no game drives here: each day brings two guided walks with expert guides, reading tracks in the sand, birdcalls and the smaller details of the bush, with larger animals sometimes seen at a distance.
Four Meru-style canvas tents are surprisingly spacious, with proper furniture, mosquito nets, an en-suite flush toilet and basin, and an open-air bucket shower filled with warm water on request. Back in camp there is a swimming pool, a sunken lounge and meals cooked over the fire, including pot bread baked in the earth. There is no wi-fi and there are no plugs in the tents.
The camp closes from 1 December to the end of February, when summer heat is at its peak. Guests meet at Simbavati River Lodge, and a compulsory scheduled transfer leaves for the camp at 13:45; private vehicles cannot drive to the camp.

Note: The 2.5% conservation contribution, payment processing fees, and any applicable referral commissions are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Conservation contribution fees (2.5%) support conservation and community projects in the destinations you visit. Payment processing fees are absorbed by Spekboom for completed bookings, but cannot be recovered once a booking is cancelled. Referral commissions, where applicable, are paid to the referring party upon booking confirmation.
Payout Protection: Guest payments are held until the free cancellation window passes. This protects guests who cancel within their cancellation window and ensures hosts receive guaranteed payouts after the cancellation period ends.
