Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge sits on a ridge inside Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa and the place that brought the southern white rhino back from near extinction. The lodge is contemporary rather than colonial: clean lines, glass and stone, wide decks reading out over the bushveld, and a design that lets the reserve do the talking.

Accommodation runs from Safari Rooms, arranged in pairs off a shared entrance lobby, each with its own bathroom and small viewing deck, through two-bedroom Safari Family Rooms, to eight Luxury Bush Villas with lounges, open fireplaces and large decks. Two Honeymoon Villas sit apart from the rest, open-plan with a fireplace, a king four-poster and a private plunge pool on an elevated deck.

The rate is fully inclusive of accommodation, all meals, two game drives a day and the Mpembeni community walk or drive, run in partnership with the neighbouring community. The lodge is owned in partnership with the Mpembeni community, and a portion of every stay flows back through the Isibindi Foundation. Children of all ages are welcome, though only children aged 6 and over may join the standard safari drives; a dedicated kids' drive runs mid-morning and a private vehicle can be booked for younger families. A minimum stay of two nights applies year round.
