Khwai Lediba

Khwai Lediba is in the private Khwai Community Concession in the north-eastern Okavango Delta, bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the oldest protected part of the Delta and the first reserve established by an African community, the BaTawana, on their own land. Its pans, floodplains, lagoons and woodland are full of wildlife, from wild dogs and lions to hippos in the Khwai River.

The camp has five luxury tented suites, a family suite with interconnecting bedrooms and a honeymoon suite with an outdoor bath, each with a king-size bed, indoor and outdoor showers, a stocked minibar and a private deck. The main area has a swimming pool with sunbeds, a lounge and reading corner, a fire pit and a boutique of local crafts.

Game drives, night drives and walking safaris explore the concession, and mokoro trips with local polers glide along the Khwai River's shallows, rich in birdlife. It is one of the camps run by African Bush Camps, a Zimbabwean-founded safari company whose Foundation works on education, community and conservation projects in the areas around its camps.
