About this place
Antbear Eco Lodge is a small, family-rooted mountain lodge in the Drakensberg, built over more than 25 years from a restored farm into a place of quiet stays, mountain air and good food. Handcrafted suites — among them a unique cave built into the hillside — feature open fireplaces, Jacuzzi spa baths and uninterrupted mountain views. Owned and run by local leaders Andile and Mlindeni, the lodge pairs thoughtful, low-impact hospitality with slow food drawn from its own kitchen garden. Days are for hiking, birding, stargazing and private dinners beneath the stars; family-friendly, wheelchair-friendly and pet-friendly options are available.

Estcourt is a beautiful destination in KwaZulu-Natal, offering visitors access to local amenities, natural attractions, and the authentic character of South African life.
