Renosterveld hills near McGregor and Robertson
Western Cape, South Africa
Vrolijkheid is a CapeNature reserve in the Breede River Valley between Robertson and McGregor, protecting a mix of succulent Karoo and renosterveld on low hills. Small antelope such as klipspringer and grysbok live here, and the reserve is known among birders for its dams and the species of the dry valleys. Walking trails cross the hills, and the cottages make an easy base for the wine farms of the Robertson valley and the village of McGregor.
