About this place
Simbavati Fynbos on Sea sits high on the dunes above Sedgefield on the Garden Route, with views over beaches, mountains, lagoons and the Indian Ocean. The lodge is surrounded by a 600 hectare fynbos reserve where eland, zebra, bushbuck and waterbuck graze.
There are nine rooms and suites, from classic rooms with garden seating to superior suites and a two-bedroom suite upstairs with a private deck, plus the Fynbos Cottage, a self-contained cottage for up to six. Most rooms have a balcony with a hammock and wide views, and the lodge has a pool overlooking the coast.
Walking trails cross the reserve, and the views run towards Gerickes Point as the light changes over the coastline. Around Sedgefield you can explore fossil dunes and quiet beaches, kayak on the Swartvlei and Sedgefield lagoons, visit a protea farm, look into the rock pools at low tide in summer, or go paragliding.

Children of all ages are welcome. Under 4s stay free with breakfast, and children aged 4 to 11 pay half the per person sharing rate when sharing with two adults. A child sharing with one adult pays the sharing rate. The cottage loft is not recommended for children under 8 because of its ladder.

Conservation contribution fees (2.5%) support conservation and community projects in the destinations you visit. Payment processing fees are absorbed by Spekboom for completed bookings, but cannot be recovered once a booking is cancelled. Referral commissions, where applicable, are paid to the referring party upon booking confirmation.
Payout Protection: Guest payments are held until the free cancellation window passes. This protects guests who cancel within their cancellation window and ensures hosts receive guaranteed payouts after the cancellation period ends.
