About Tussen-die-Riviere Nature Reserve
Tussen-die-Riviere lies between the Orange and Caledon rivers in the southern Free State near Bethulie, a Karoo reserve of plains and koppies at the confluence, with springbok, black wildebeest, gemsbok, eland and a fenced buffalo section. It is a hunting reserve for part of the year and a game-viewing and hiking reserve for the rest, with chalets and camping, and the rivers give it fishing and birding. It is malaria-free and a long way from the main routes.
