Ivory Tree Game Lodge

Ivory Tree Game Lodge sits in the north-eastern corner of the Pilanesberg National Park, in an ancient volcanic amphitheatre divided by riverine woodland. The park is malaria-free and home to the Big Five, and it is about two and a half hours from Johannesburg.

The lodge has 70 rooms in earthy tones, from standard and luxury suites to family suites and the Royal Pilane Suite, each with outdoor seating looking into the bush. The central area holds a pool, bar, dining room, boma and curio shop, and the Amani Spa has three thatched treatment rooms on stilts above the bushveld.

Two game drives a day of three to four hours are led by a ranger in an open vehicle, with a coffee stop in the morning and a sundowner at dusk. Boma and bush dinners, hot air ballooning and Sun City are all close by.
