A private garden cottage on Westcliff Drive, on the leafy ridge above Parkview, one of the most established of Johannesburg's 'Parks' suburbs. The cottage has its own entrance off a private gated lane, an undercover parking bay with remote access, and a patio with garden furniture beside the lemon tree that gives the cottage its name.

Inside is a bedroom with a double bed (with an electric blanket for winter) and an en-suite shower bathroom, a lounge with a leather couch and a flat-screen TV with an OpenView decoder and a Mi Box for signing into Netflix, Prime Video or Disney Plus, a separate study area with a desk and extra cupboard space, and a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, washing machine and a two-plate gas stove for load-shedding.

The cottage is well set up for Johannesburg's power cuts: uncapped fibre wifi with backup, an inverter for charging laptops and phones, rechargeable globes, solar lights outside and a backup water tank.

The suburb is quiet and patrolled by 24-hour security vehicles. Parkview village's shops and restaurants are a short walk away, the famous Westcliff Stairs are 600 m down the road, and Zoo Lake and the Johannesburg Zoo are within a kilometre. Milpark Hospital and the Donald Gordon Medical Centre are a few minutes' drive, which makes the cottage a practical base for medical stays. The M1 is close by for the rest of the city.

Please note the cottage is not serviced during shorter stays; basic cleaning is included on stays of two weeks or more and extra cleaning can be arranged at an additional cost. A gas heater is available for winter at an extra charge. A friendly Jack Russell lives on the main property. No smoking indoors, no parties and no guest pets. Not suitable for infants under 2.
