Oor hierdie plek
Nyamatusi Camp sits on the banks of the Zambezi in Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's great walking-safari destinations. What stands out here are the walks: a rare chance to track and watch African wild dogs on foot, alongside elephants that browse the riverine woodland.
The camp has six tented suites, each with air conditioning, indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, a viewing deck and a private plunge pool, all looking straight onto the river. Built from thatch and other natural materials and powered entirely by the sun, it is furnished with handwoven lighting and furniture by local artisans, and has a wine cellar, a fire pit, a bar and a shared plunge pool.
Game drives, canoeing on the Zambezi, catch-and-release fishing and birding fill the days, with boat cruises in the Emerald season, and the sun sets over the river and the escarpment beyond. It is one of the camps run by African Bush Camps, a Zimbabwean-founded safari company whose Foundation works on education, community and conservation projects in the areas around its camps.
