Oor hierdie plek
Robberg Nature Reserve is a dramatic rocky peninsula 8km south of Plettenberg Bay, a National Monument and World Heritage Site where rocks date back 120 million years to the break-up of Gondwanaland. The reserve is famous for its circular cliff-top hiking trails, a Cape fur seal colony, dolphin and whale sightings, and the Nelson Bay Cave with evidence of Stone Age habitation.
Walkers can choose short circuits or the full peninsula hike out to The Point, with spectacular ocean views the whole way. It is one of the Garden Route's signature day-walk destinations.
The reserve's only overnight option is the rustic Fountain Shack, a self-catering hiker's cottage on the trail with an unbeatable, remote oceanfront setting for those who carry in their own supplies.
