About this place
Rooilande Guest Farm is a working farm of around four thousand hectares in the Great Karoo, on the N1 near Laingsburg in the Western Cape. The name means “Red Land”, after the red rocks of the region. It is roughly 280 kilometres from Cape Town, with a private airstrip on the farm for guests flying in.
Accommodation is self-catering: standard and deluxe chalets, each with its own wood-fired hot tub, and a four-bedroom guest house — together sleeping between twenty and forty guests. Every chalet overlooks the wild camp where zebra, eland, gemsbok and springbok roam alongside ostriches, llamas, horses and farm animals.
The farm has around forty kilometres of mountain-bike trails and twenty kilometres of hiking trails, quad-bike hire and guided rides, 4x4 routes, bird-watching hides and wide Karoo skies for stargazing. A farm shop sells wood, ice and firelighters, and farm-fresh meals can be arranged on request.

Laingsburg is a beautiful destination in Western Cape, offering visitors access to local amenities, natural attractions, and the authentic character of South African life.
