About this place
Limietberg Nature Reserve is a pristine World Heritage Site tucked into the Du Toitskloof Mountains near Paarl and Wellington, stretching from Franschhoek towards Groot Drakenstein and north to Voelvlei Dam. It protects rugged mountain fynbos, deep ravines and the clear pools and waterfalls of the Witte and Molenaars rivers.
The reserve is a favourite for kloofing, river swimming, hiking and mountain biking, with the popular Tweede Tol area and Bobbejaans River trails drawing day visitors and overnighters from across the Winelands.
Camping is at the riverside Tweede Tol campsite, with both open and private sites set among the trees beside the mountain river, an easy hour from Cape Town and ideal for a back-to-nature weekend.
