Vrae wat reisigers vra
’n Waarneming beteken dat ’n gasheer die Leadwood op die eiendom of naby gesien het. Dit waarborg nooit dat jy dit sal sien nie.
Which parks and reserves are best for the Leadwood in South Africa?
Hosts on Spekboom have recorded the Leadwood at stays in or beside Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Ndumo Game Reserve and Welgevonden Game Reserve. A record means a host has seen it on the property or nearby, which makes these the places to base yourself; it is never a guarantee of a sighting on any given day.
Where can you see the Leadwood in South Africa?
The Leadwood is most recorded in Mpumalanga (42% of records), Limpopo (35% of records), North West (22% of records), based on 752 iNaturalist observations. 39 places to stay on Spekboom in South Africa have recorded the Leadwood on site or nearby.
When is the best time to see the Leadwood?
The Leadwood is recorded throughout the year, so no month is the wrong month to look for it. For the parks where hosts record it most, these are the best seasons they give. Kruger National Park: Apr-Sep; Sabi Sand Game Reserve: year-round, dry season May-Sep optimal; Timbavati Private Nature Reserve: May-Sep, dry season; Ndumo Game Reserve: year-round, dry season May-Sep. In the dry months animals concentrate at water and the grass is short.
What is the Leadwood?
Combretum imberbe (Leadwood, Afrikaans: Hardekool, Sotho: Mohwelere-tšhipi, Tsonga: Motswiri/Mondzo, Zulu: iMpondondlovu) is a characteristic and often impressive bushwillow species of the southern Afrotropics. The medium to large tree has a sparse, semi-deciduous canopy of grey-green leaves. The twigs and leaves are hairless as the name imberbe suggests.
